Jakob Bjerknes Papers, ca. 1900-1988

Jakob Aall Bonnevie Bjerknes (1897-1975) was a professor of meteorology at UCLA (1940-1965). He founded UCLA's Atmospheric Sciences Department. His research work focused on the importance of atmospheric fronts and initial formulation of polar front model, and global changes in the atmosphere. The collection consists of material relating to Bjerknes and his meteorologist father, Vilhelm.
